The Beaufort History Museum is honored to be the recipient of a $125,000 grant from the SC 250 committee. The purpose of this award is to create events for Beaufort, students, and visitors to showcase Beaufort’s role in the Revolutionary War. Plans are still developing. The major effort will be to create an immersive theater experience. This video will show the differences in opinion and factors that led to SC colonists to be on the side of the Patriots or the Loyalists. Other exciting events will be possible through this generous grant. Stay tuned.

The activities that are the subject of this video and other events have been financed in part with state funds from the SC American Revolution Sestercentennial Commission (SC250). However, the contents and opinions do not necessarily reflect the views or policies of SC250, nor does the mention of trade names or commercial products constitute endorsement or recommendation by SC250.

Our mission is to preserve, portray, and promote the experiences of our past that influence us now and in the future.
