Girls Raised In The South . . .
. . . Join us for a tea party and celebration of Lowcountry women who changed history. This is the principal fundraiser for the Beaufort History Museum. The tea party will be a delectable event featuring live music; a cocktail reception; scrumptious traditional fare; and a fascinating program.
You'll experience a dramatic performance by acclaimed re-enactor Kim Poovey, in full Civil War-era period dress, from her novel Truer Words. You'll also hear the stories of four outstanding women -- Harriet Keyserling, Harriet Tubman, Abbie Holmes Christensen, and Mrs. Ercell Brown Holmes -- who with wisdom, tenacity and fierce courage, influenced the unfolding history of our area.
